Selene von Esper was a young Adept of the Ordinatio Theonitus, and a capable sorcerer. She was tasked with investigating the Rimeford mines at the behest of Master Caegin. This mission caused her to become disillusioned in the Order, and she eventually defected. This put a target on Selene's head, forcing her to go into hiding.

Appearance and Personality

Selene had dark hair, styled in a Hime haircut. She looked like Lady Jessica from Dune, but also like Padmé Amidala. She wore sweeping robes, with long sleeves. She was very covered up. As the days got colder, she would wear a cape with furs covering it to keep her warm. She also had a muff she would keep her hands in. As a member of the Ordinatio Theonitus, she wore a collar of Theonite around her neck that allowed her to communicate with the order at any time. It was also suggested that the Theonite collar could help her channel her magic.

Selene was a very anxious person, in general. Eager to please, and desperate for guidance, Selene would constantly find herself torn between her duties as an Adept, and her hesitance to do anything wrong. She was good at lying, even to herself, and would look away whenever she saw others doing things that she knew she should prohibit (such as worshiping gods besides Reya). Despite all of this, Selene was loyal to those she considered her friends. She would fight alongside those, even standing up to powerful and dangerous characters. When it came right down to it, Selene would do what she needed to do.

Biography

Early Life

Selene showed promise of magical abilities from a very young age. The oldest of 4 siblings, she would have been next in line to inherit the assets of her wealthy family. However, following a vague incident when she was younger (that she could never get the full details of), she was sent away to study magic with the Order. Her younger brother Leo was then placed in line as heir. She also had two younger siblings, who were twins.

About a year after her training with the Order was complete, she was sent on a mission to Rimeford. Her task was to investigate why the Theonite Mines were not producing as much as they had been. There, she teamed up with two locals, T'Chuck and R'Oarc, as well as the wealthy mine owner Screech Echo to solve various mysteries around town. Along the way, she became disillusioned with the Order, and the point of view of the Empire. She decided to turn against them, and, though reluctantly, joined a burgeoning resistance against the Empire. This forced her to go into hiding, so she, along with her new friends, traveled deep into the mountains of the Whispering Peaks. There, they found a kind of mirror village of Rimeford, called Mineford. The group decided to settle down here for a while. Selene took up shadowing Ratma Ritmo while bartending, perhaps looking for a new job.
