Welcome To Rimeford (2x1) | Slip AND Slide?! (2x53) |
Rimeford was a small village in the Whispering Peaks mountain region. Ruled over by Sir Rex Yalos, it was bordered by a series of forests and woodlands. The woods to the west were controlled by the Grizzly-folk, but the forests to the north-east were uncontrolled. Full of elk and bears, Rimeford hunters were free to hunt game there as needed.
History[]
Years ago, a tower was constructed above a Theonite mine, by a powerful mage who wanted to study the material. During the Mage Wars, this tower was one of the greatest assets of the White Spire, due to its proximity to the Theonite supply. However, this also made it a large target, and the tower was one of the first to fall to Emperor Beauregard during the conflict. Following the Emperor's victory over the White Spire, Rimeford began a quiet, peaceful place. The Emperor installed Sir Rex Yalos as the overseer of the town. The mine continued to function, and in fact, under the leadership of Granona Flintbeard grew to be one of Reverb Mining and Logistics's biggest suppliers of Theonite. However, things were not as amiable as they at first appeared...
Recent Events[]
Reports began reaching the Empire that production of Theonite had begun to slow. This caught the attention of The Order, who sent a young Adept, Selene von Esper to the town to investigate. The mines faltering supply was also a concern of Screech Echo, owner of the Reverb Mining and Logistics company. The two met on the road to the city, and upon arrival, befriended two locals, T'Chuck and R'Oarc. Together, these four became a single party, and worked to solve mysteries around town.
Eventually, it came to be revealed that the missing shipments from the mines were the doing of Sir Rex Yalos himself, working along with local barkeep Ratma Ritmo. Yalos was not as loyal to the Emperor as he first appeared, and was actively working to foment a revolution against the Empire. To that end, he was also keeping the last dragon safe and secret under the tunnels beneath Ridgewood Keep
Selene's mission to keep the order in Rimeford grew too sticky for the Order, and so they dispatched a series of other Adepts to clean up after her. However, one of these Adepts, Kyle Oakenbacher, was also a defector of the Order, and was attempting to join Ratma Ritmo in her schemes to start a revolution. Yet more OT members were sent to Rimeford, and they deemed the city beyond saving. They informed Selene of their intentions to kill Sir Yalos, and install an outfit of Order members in the city, to enforce the Emperor's rule. Selene informed her friends of this plot, and together, the party escaped the city in secret, bringing the young dragon with them. Yalos' fate remains unknown.
