Professor Devin Decacog was the Gnome owner of The Farhold Trumpeter. He had an intense hatred of vigilantes, a sentiment expressed in the periodical he ran. Most notable about Decacog was the 10-armed apparatus he wore that was, ostensibly, to aid him in the operation of the printing press he owned. However, he was also able to use the arms to fight people, should the need arise.
Decacog first appeared in Rimeford while searching for a masked vigilante known as The Squirrel Man. He offered Screech Echo a position at the Trumpeter as their official sketch artist, an offering made awkward by Screech secretly being the Squirrel Man. After the Trumpeter began publishing stories about the Squirrel Man appearing in Rimeford, the Order issued a death sentence for Decacog, to silence him. Adept Selene von Esper was sent to carry out the mission, though she failed. Decacog lived, and soon after, began publishing stories about the OT's attempts on his life. This sparked more hostility from the Order, forcing Decacog to go into hiding. Though this did not stop him from continuing to publish new editions of the Trumpeter.
