Mineford was the name of an underground city, residing in the tunnels beneath Rimeford. The name was coined by Ratma Ritmo, who had set up a second Goblin Pit location there years before.
It was centrally located between the nearby underground settlements of Gunthroguard and Morendarith, a few miles away in opposite directions. It also featured easy access to the surface world, making it prime real estate for the tavern. However, following Ratma's abandonment of the city, a terrifying and sinister Drider made is hunting grounds in the tunnels around the settlement. As such, Mineford became a ghost town, empty and sad. This lasted until Ratma returned, along with T'Chuck, R'Oarc, Screech Echo, and Selene von Esper. They slew the Drider, and began cleaning up the town. Slowly but surely, it began to rebuild, as more and more villagers returned. A few of these villagers included Griff (the brewer), Kitten (a Mushroom-folk who just hangs out with Kitten all day), Dan (the baker), and Geremy (the fisherman). There were "theoretically" other people here, too.
There was a well located in the center of town, but the supply of water within the well was wicked and... full of waste. Body parts, rather. As such, it was not suitable for consumption, so alternative water sources needed to be used.
Following the most recent GobblyCon, several new people have moved into town, and opened new and exciting businesses. These are:
- Seraphina Nightshade, a Wood Elf, who's opened up an herb shop called "Mandrake and Mortar". Nestled in a shadowy alley, it's known for it's extensive collection of rare and exotic herbs. Seraphina herself is a mysterious and knowledgeable herbalist, rumored to have a deep connection with her plants. She was brought in by T'Chuck.
- Adelaide Thornehollow, a whimsical Halfling, who's opened up a bookshop called "The Curious Codex". It's quirky and eccentric, filled with unusual and eclectic books. She was brought in by Screech.
- Morwin Darkhammer, a stoic and solitary Dwarf, who's opened up a foreboding blacksmithing shop called "The Gloomforge". Morwin is known for her exceptional talent in crafting dark and formidable weapons, that have cool pentagrams on them. She was brought in by Selene.
- Grimmly Tumbletoes, a cheerful Halfling with an adventurous spirit, who's opened an emporium called "The Fumbling Find". It's filled with various objects and knick-knacks, each of them jinxed in some benign, yet comedic, way. He was brought in by R'Oarc, much to T'Chuck's chagrin.
- Coraline Nightshade, sister to Seraphine. She's a butcher who's opened a meat shop called "Dark Cleaver Deli". They're renowned for their exotic cuts of meat. Coraline was NOT brought in from GobblyCon, but instead was paid 200 gp (indirectly) by T'Chuck. Not sure what program they're working through, but there you go.
