Lolth was a Spider Queen who ruled gross demon spiders. She invaded the Feywild after Lady Adira Harper used a device called the Jade Pyramid to capture Melora, the Queen of Spring[1]. After this, The Tower of Grey travelled to the Feywild (to find Prince Thom Harper), and took on the responsibility of defeating Lolth and ending the newly created Spider Apocalypse.
In Episode 412 - NASCAR, Celtra Wimblepuck says she purchased Thom the Dragonborn's meat from a shady vendor on the Dark Web. Toby suggests that this Dark Web is engineered/maintained by Lolth.
