We find a little shop of even littler horror’s! This dungeon is horrible and I want to go home.
Story[]
Long Story[]
As it turns out, Faize and Weck know each other. They had been together in Mastwick, drinking and having a good time, but they got separated. Weck was approached by a man offering him some money, and then he woke up here the next morning. Faize is suspicious, but does introduce Weck to the party. They all decide to bring him along with him, but before they do, she has Bennett examine Weck, to ensure he hasn't become a Mind Flayer host. Trent casts Gaseous Form on the little doctor, allowing Bennett to become breathed in by Weck. This allows him to confirm that Weck is, in fact, not a host. Weck then demands that Bennett examine Faize herself, and he does. She's also, not a host.
Weck warns the party of the grave situation they're in, how there are masked men chasing them around and killing them. He's been down here 5 days in total, and the others notice that he's wearing the same grey rags that the zombies tied to the chairs were wearing. Time That Erodes Young Love, who is himself a mask wearer, is getting real stressed out, and reveals his backstory to everyone. The leader of the Sanguine Sundries is "Frost That Blights the Land", and FTBtL is where TTEYL gets his power from. The more adventures he completes, the more minions he'll gain, which is what Briar is. He wants to recruit the rest of the party as his minions, if they can get out of here alive. He also becomes suspicious of Briar, and decides to bite them to determine if their still Briar. He does this, lifting his mask slightly to reveal "a slightly desiccated jaw", and bites Briar. Briar is Briar. Nothing to worry about here.
Weck gets their attention again. They need to keep moving. Briar mentions why they all were brought down here, to find the missing Dwarves, thought they don't super care about that anymore. Gorman isn't happy to hear this, but whatcanyoudo. They press onward and forward, Weck leading the way, and Faize casting Emboldening Bond to strengthen the team. They soon come up on another hidden entrance, and another room. Inside, the walls are lined with drawing, sketches, pages of what appears to be a scientific journal. They appear to describe creatures, mushrooms, plants, all of which can be found down here in this place. Some of them are creatures that the party has encountered down here. The pages also describe several mechanical Homunculus-type creatures, with different designs.
One of these mechanical Homunculus-type creatures actually appears in front of the small Bennett, and attacks him. It's wearing a black hat and trench-coat, and carrying a large blade. Another such creature attacks Pegwing, this one with a drill for a head. Two more mechanical beasts attack as well, one with a cowboy hat and six arms, each carrying a gun, and another dressed as a court jester. They are all killed quite easily.
The battle done, the party suddenly hears a sinister laughter inside their heads. Appearing before them, previously invisible, is another Mind Flayer. He asks the party what flavor of horror they would prefer, but when they don't answer him, and when Pegwing draws his sword, he renders them all unconscious.
Short[]
Faize and Weck are old friends, though Faize doesn't trust Weck. After verifying that they are not infected, they leave and find a room full of drawings of creatures. Some of these creatures appear and attack, but they are easily fought off. A Mind Flayer appears before them, and knocks them all unconscious.
