Things continue to get worse and we are joined by an new/old friend.
Story[]
Long Story[]
Gorman calls out to Rango, who seems to recognize him. He (Rango) drops his dagger... and then falls unconscious. They throw him onto the cot, along with the other Dwarf, Beller. They also decide to just chill out for a while and catch their breath. Time That Erodes Young Love scoops up the remains of Vandrian, for resurrecting later. Daggie Detects Magic from the weird black and white object that Faize touched. There's also the two zombies chained to the chairs. How best to interrogate them. They are undead, not technically dead, so TTEYL can't cast Speak with Dead to talk to them. But, they can kill them. And then they'd be dead. Daggie and Briar do the dirty deed, while TTEYL uses a Mage Hand to collect the magical object.
Once the zombies are dead, TTEYL communicates with one of them. He asks what the last thing he remembers is, but he doesn't remember much. He was just a plain old turnip farmer from the town of Stockley, but then woke up here, along with the other dead guy, on a stone slab. There was a masked figure choking him, and then a "strange creature" began eating his brain. That's the last thing he remembers. With nothing else to learn, Pegwing and his little friend Bennett kill him again.
The party takes a short rest, after Gorman and Shaw clean the room out a little bit. TTEYL sneaks away, takes out some bloody rags that he helped Faize with, and slorps them down. He hoped this would sate his hunger, but it does not. He is noticed returning by Briar, who makes note of this, but says nothing. While the party rests, they also take some personal time to accomplish some of their daily goals. TTEYL restores his familiar Vandrian, so he's alive again. Pegwing practices his juggling, watched by Briar and Daggie. Faize spars with Pegwing. And as they are getting ready to head out again, though, something really weird happens. A secret door opens up, revealing a passageway, and a figure standing there...
But before we see who it is, we flashback to Briar, when they sat down on the bed before. They fell, down and down and down. Eventually, they land in something wet. Blood. In fact, a pile of dead bodies. As if that weren't scary enough, a creature steps out of the shadows, a creature with four tentacles instead of a mouth. Briar hears this creature communicate, but not by speaking. They hear the voice in their mind. It says that "Fassbender" wouldn't mind if it had a little snack, and a psionic blast nearly sends Briar flying. But they hold their ground. The creature is surprised by this, but interested. It says it does enjoy playing with its food. Briar doesn't have a weapon, their rapier is nowhere to be found, but they do see the diary on the ground, the one that told about their twin they don't remember having. Briar picks it up, asks the creature what's going on. But before they're given a straight answer, the creature is stabbed through the face! It falls down, dead, and standing behind it is a man holding Briar's rapier.
The man introduces himself as Weck, and tells Briar that he's been down here for a couple of days. He warns hat there are people down here wearing masks, chasing him. He had some allies, other victims that were being chased by the masked men, but they didn't make it. Briar decides to follow him, and they leave the room together. As they go, Weck suddenly gets a small cut on his hand, which he didn't receive naturally. It just appears. He tells Briar that this has been happening a lot recently (and we saw it happen with Faize in Episode 3). Eventually, the two come upon a secret door, and slide it open. On the other side is... the rest of the party, having just finished a short rest.
Everyone turns to the door opening, and in the moment of being distracted, Bennett's sword slips and accidentally cuts Faize's hand slightly. Weird. They see Briar standing in the doorway, but Weck is not there. This is all very strange, but suddenly, TTEYL gets stabbed by the Briar that was in the room with them! He immediately responds by Eldritch Blasting this impostor away. The "real" Briar rushes in to stab the "fake" Briar with their dagger, burying it in their back. The "evil" Briar then claims to be "Nettle", Briar's long lost twin. Briar ain't buying it, though, and tells everyone about the diary. As they go to open it, Nettle breaks away and attacks TTEYL again, but Daggie casts Heat Metal on the dagger still lodged in Nettles back, which hurts. And when Nettle crashed into TTEYL, it also hurts him. TTEYL is, however, able to treat this as an attack and Hellish Rebukes this, which causes Nettle to burst into flames and die!
Briar looks in the book that first told them about this twin. It's been updated. It has their fight, and Nettle's death listed in it. What is it, the Wiki? lol no it isn't. Faize stabs Briar with a pen, to see if that is reflected in the book as well, and it is!
Daggie tries to hug TTEYL, and heal him as he does so, but TTEYL is very resistant to the idea. He eventually relents, and they hug. But as they hug, Daggie suddenly begins coughing up blood. He steps back, revealing a protrusion coming from his midsection. Something is clawing its way out of his stomach!
Short[]
The party has found Rango, one of the missing Dwarves. They take him in and interrogate one of the zombies, but don't learn much. After that, everyone takes a break. But we also flash back to when Briar fell down that pit a while ago. They landed in a pile of bodies, and were attacked by a tentacle-mouthed creature. They were then rescued by a guy named Weck, who led them back to their friends, but that means there are now two Briars. One is evil, and one is good. The evil one attacks Time That Erodes Young Love, and then is killed. Daggie goes to hug TTEYL, but something suddenly bursts out of his stomach!
