Kate Aurochs was the head of the Human Resources department for the Nine Hells branch of Ferrim Pecunia. She carried the black key card that would open the Vault on the bottom floor of the Ferrim Pecunia, resulting in The Tower of Grey attempting to steal it. During their attempts to get access to the key cards, Toby Treacletart put the moves on her, so to speak. Those moves resulted in what may be the strangest relationship the worlds have ever seen. Toby would frequently make comments about her to his friends, though it was unclear how reciprocated those feelings were.
Later, when Tiamat and Bahamut were both killed by The BBEG, Kate's allegiances were in question, until she revealed that she never answered Tiamat's summons to fight at Mt. Celestia. She invited Toby to join the draconic meetings to vote for their next leader, which he agreed to do. He, in turn, invited her to visit him every know and then when he was on the run from Vecna.
