Karnak was an evil Ogre living in the dense, dark forests outside of Rimeford in the Whispering Peaks region of Drunkeros. According to Beary, a local Grizzly-folk who lived in a nearby cabin in those same forests, Karnak was "an evil ogre, who didn't follow the ways of the woods. He'd eat a dear head and leave the body. He didn't respect the rules of the land."
When R'Oarc and Screech Echo were on their way to the nearby Grizzly-folk to investigate the mysterious goings-on about Rimeford, they ran into Karnak, who attacked them. He killed R'Oarc, and knocked Screech unconscious, but was driven off by Beary.
Karnak and Beary had a years-long rivalry with each other. During a previous fight together, Karnak vowed to return to Beary's cabin with some friends and burn it down. He made good on that promise when R'Oarc and Screech were recovering from their encounter with Karnak. Together, along with T'Chuck and Selene von Esper, Beary and co. fought back Karnak and his goblins, but were unable to keep the cabin from being burnt. During the battle, Karnak and Beary went tumbling down a hill, out of sight.
Later, it was revealed that Karnak had survived this fight. In need of a gift to bring to the Grizzly-folk, R'Oarc and her friends hunted down Karnak and killed hime once and for all. She cut off his head (along with that of another ogre that Karnak was hanging out with) and brought it to the Grizzly-folk. As thanks, they were awarded a special kind of mead that only the Grizzly-folk produced.
