Griff was a goblin living in Mineford, serving as the town brewer. Years before the events of the show, Griff and his family were a happy group of goblins living in the settlement. After town leader Ratma Ritmo left, there was no one to watch over the town and keep them safe. Because of this, a wicked Drider moved in, and began using the tunnels around Mineford as his personal hunting grounds. Griff's family was killed by the Drider, and Griff, along with the other survivors of the town, were forced to go on the run. Years later (current times), Griff made a new friend, Kitten, a large mushroom-folk. The two ran into T'Chuck, R'Oarc, Selene von Esper, and Screech Echo, who told them that Ratma Ritmo had returned to Mineford, and that the Drider was dead. They agreed to return to Mineford, where Griff would resume work as brewer once again.
Griff new where all the best freshwater sources were, and had even found a hot spring nearby for anyone to enjoy.
