Fungarum was a recently bequeathed name of a village of Myconid people, near Mineford. The village king, Sporelin, traveled to Mineford in search of some adventurers who could help him stop the disappearances of several other Myconid villagers. Once at Mineford, he ran into T'Chuck, R'Oarc, Selene von Esper, and Screech Echo, who agreed to return to Fungarum to help. There, the party met, and fought with, Faelia Emberbrew.
The naming of the town is kind of wacky. When Sporelin initially met the party, he introduced himself as "Sporelin", and mentioned that, back in town, a friend of his named "Fungarum" would be happy to see him. He also mentioned that his town didn't have a name. Later, Sporelin forgot his own name, and started calling himself Fungarum. This lasted until he remembered that his name was actually Sporelin. However, he failed to remember who Fungarum was, thinking he was one of the disappeared Myconid who later came back as a zombie. In response, and as a means of honoring the dead, the party suggested renaming the unnamed village to "Fungarum", which Sporelin agreed to.
