Fassbender was the name of a the Ulitharid Mind Flayer in the process of morphing into an Elder Brain. Fassbender and his Mind Flayer cohorts were in charge of a mysterious underground city. This city was under investigation by the Scottsdale Mining Company, who sent Time That Erodes Young Love, Briar, Daggie Chookers, Faize, and Pegwing Blackfeather to investigate the city. This group promptly fell into the traps laid out by Fassbender. However, after suffering much personal turmoil (including the death of Daggie Chookers, replaced by Trent), the party was finally able to meet up with Fassbender. There was an intense battle, but Fassbender was ultimately killed by the party. Time That Erodes Young Love dealt the killing blow, hitting the Brain with several of his signature move, Eldritch Blast.
