When facing a monster of such horror and unknowable wrath you gotta bring in some dang back up! Hopefully the back up is like, helpful and not chaotic and prone to exploding.
Story[]
Long Story[]
The footsteps from last episode were just Skud running to catch up with them. Toby immediately opens fire on the monster that's sucking the life force from The Sorrowful Man. This prompts a battle in which Skud is finally able to use his Summon Lesser Demons spell in battle, which is as hilarious as it is difficult to document in the rolls section below. He summons 12 demons, but all of them are killed by this creatures Zone of Terribleness, except for one demon, named John. John is able to casts Tasha's Hideous Laughter, and incapacitates the creature, who is now rofl-ing. It quickly reconstitutes itself, and does some evil magic to freeze Skud in place. Lahni does some massive damage, with her punches. John is ultimately killed by the creature's Misty Zone, and Rowan, in a fit of rage, shoots two arrows at the creature, killing it.
Finally, The Sorrowful Man wakes up.
Short[]
The whole episode is a fight between this Night Zone creature and the party. Skud summons Lesser Demons, which all immediately die, except for one of them, everyone's new favorite character John. He, too, dies, and Rowan is distraught. She kills the creature with some arrows. The Sorrowful Man wakes up.
