Be Free (My Cuties) Train Car of Revalations

Nothing like a stinky, leaky room to make you want to go and change the world. To find some young minds and shape them for the future. To maybe start a coup or blood feud with a jacked clown. The possibilities are endless.

Story[]

Long Story[]

Beholder-doodle, secret vigilante, has just been approached by The Oriole, secret vigilante jr. According to the young hero, something strange has been going on around the circus, and he needs Beholder-doodle's help to set things right. There's a new clown who's joined recently, named "Bobo". But The Oriole doesn't think he's just any ordinary clown. Bobo is huge (standing at about 6' 8"), muscular, and mysterious. The other day, The Oriole followed Bobo around, and watched him loosen some of the lug-nuts on the wheels of the circus caravan! Beholder-doodle agrees to look into it. With the meeting adjourned, The Oriole throws down a smoke bomb, and disappears. But there's no one around to admire it, because Beholder-doodle is gone, too! Whoa!

It's getting late, so the party heads toward their own caravan wagon for the night. After a quick check in with ringleader Barnabas Rumbletoes, they turn in for the night, and finally get to take a long rest! So heavy is their slumber, that not even some night-time thunder can disturb them.

Their morning isn't as comfortable as their night was, however. It's raining, and their wagon has a leak in it. What's worse is the smell, which means they can't even stay inside out of the rain. This is, in my opinion, a hell worse than any demon could conceive of. The rest of the circus gets to work setting the caravan up to roll out, and it sounds like our party doesn't help one little bit. This ends up becoming a recurring joke over this circus arc, one that I love. Screech tells the others about his late night rendezvous with The Oriole (it's not as bad as it sounds). The whole "loose lug-nuts" thing can't be good, so they take this information to Barnabas. He's concerned, at first, until they mention Bobo. Barnabas loves Bobo! Everyone does! He's been here for "a few weeks", which means he's been here longer than the party has. True, he's not the World's Greatest Clown, or anything, but he's working on it. Really, the only thing Bobo can do around here is check the lug-nuts...

Barnabas does agree to have the lug-nuts checked (and presumably by someone other than Bobo), but asks for a favor in return. Well, he calls is a "required favor", which is an amazing term. He wants T'Chuck and Selene, as the most respected and experienced members of the party, to go and do some substitute teaching over at the school wagon. They agree. He also requests that R'Oarc and Screech, as the other two members of the party, go and calm down J'Michael. He's been a little rowdier than normal, and has been knocking over wagons. Stop that! They, too, agree.

First, R'Oarc and Screech go to J'Michael. It's true, there's a toppled wagon, knocked over by J'Michael, Jumbo, and the old, one-eyed bear, just wrastlin' around in the mud. J'Michael doesn't think he's strong enough to set it back upright, so R'Oarc suggests using Vern the Wyvern as "leverage". I'm not really sure how this works, but it does, somehow. The wagon is propped back up! They also check the lug-nuts. They are, indeed, loose. They tighten them, all the way, but then loosen them back a quarter of a turn, which is, apparently, something you're supposed to do. Also, Screech and R'Oarc become best friends.

Meanwhile, T'Chuck and Selene go to the school wagon to teach some orphans the ways of the world. T'Chuck, as a dad, is all about spreading his wisdom on the youths of tomorrow. One of these youths is the unfortunately named Dick Goodie, who introduces himself as the class representative. So, he's a huge nerd. Cool. He tells Mr. T'Chuck and Ms. Selene that their previous lessons were about the war. T'Chuck, as a veteran, is all about spreading his "War is bad" message on the youths of tomorrow. Selene promises them that there should be no more wars, now that Emperor Beauregard is in charge. The kids ask Selene about some rumors they've heard about the OT: That they strip you naked, shave your head, and make you run through the streets when you do bad things. Selene confirms this, but reassures them that they don't do those things to children. Apparently, there was a "tall man" in the last town who told them these things. She also confirms that Farhold has roads. so, apparently, that's not a super common thing outside of the capitol. They then break for recess.

The party reconveines later that day in their wagon, which is no longer leaking. The episode ends as they all basically agree that Dick Goodie is The Oriole.

Short[]

The Oriole tells Screech that a new weird clown is hanging out, called Bobo. He's been loosening lugnuts. The next morning, they tell Barnabas, but he doesn't believe that Bobo would do that. He does agree to check the lugnuts, though. Selene and T'Chuck go to the classroom train car, to be substitute teachers for the orphans, where they talk about the war, and meet Dick Goodie. Meanwhile, Screech and R'Oarc to go talk to J'Michael, who's knocked over a train car. They are able to fix it, though.

Trivia[]

  • Bachmann was born in Michigan. Go Blue!
  • Jennifer was born at 3:02pm.
  • The Oriole claims to be 50 years old.
  • When the party speaks with Barnabas, they introduce J'Michael as if he's new to the circus. I think they realize pretty quickly that J'Michael's been here for a while, but still. It's pretty funny.
  • Barnabas tries to tell the party to take care of their wagon, or else they'll lose their deposit. But, R'Oarc is able to turn things around on him, and get him to have the wagon repaired, seeing as he's basically their landlord.
  • The caravan is like a big train that's pulled by a lot of animals.
  • Dick Goodie is described as "a thin blond boy, with a bowl hair cut, and singe marks all over him."
  • T'Chuck's tattoos signify that he did a good job following the emperor's orders.
