Three Weeks Later Pig in the Box

We have finally found some sense of peace after running for our lives from Rimeford. Ahead of us is pain aWelcome to the underground world of Drunkeros! We have phase spiders and other horrors for your adventuring party to bump into. Maybe they will be into all these creepy beasts, we sure are not. Leave us alone, ya bugs.

Story[]

Long Story[]

The party has successfully completed their first mission, clearing the Mushroom Fields of Mineford from the dreaded Black Pudding. Before heading back to town, however, they decide to go and tackle their next quest. The water source is on the way back, so they could pop on by and eliminate the Phase Spiders before returning. Sounds good. T'Chuck creates a cozy little cove for them using Stone Shape, and the party takes a short rest.

On the way to the water source, however, the group gets all turned around. Somehow, they end up back in Mineford. Oh, well. Ratma Ritmo greets them, and gives them their payment for defeating the Black Pudding. It's 100 gp, but then she takes 1 gp back, for room and board. As a way of making some money back, T'Chuck sells Ratma five vials of the boner medication that The Abbott had made for them. She buys them for 100 more gp.

R'Oarc approaches Screech with a business opportunity. She has seen that the local carnivals use Screech Bucks as they primary form of currency. And since Screech's printing press has been taken over by Copperpot, there are no new Screech Bucks being produced. So, if R'Oarc and Screech begin manufacturing them again, they'll be rich! At least in the carnival scene. Screech is open to the idea, but thinks that it may be more beneficial to just deal with Copperpot, and fix things that way. So, R'Oarc begins making Screech Bucks herself, by just drawing on some parchment. This seems illegal. Also, at Ratma's suggestion, she makes one single R'Oarc Buck, which is somehow worth 100 dollars.

Anyway, the party decides to sleep. The next morning, they meet up outside the tavern, and prepare to head out to deal with the Phase Spiders. But Screech is nowhere to be seen. After a few moments, Milton Graves approaches them, accompanied by... Beholder-doodle! The real one! He (not Milton) says that Screech is back in his secret cave. Okay, cool, well. Together, they head out, leaving Milton Graves behind.

As they travel, they begin to see some spider webs. These webs get thicker and thicker, so T'Chuck burns them away with a torch. Soon, the sound of rushing water announces that they are getting closer. As the tunnels open up, a giant, blue-ish spider darts across the screen. It's strangely translucent, like it's not fully there. Beholder-doodle makes his way to the ceiling and hides. R'Oarc also hides, but on the ground. T'Chuck attempts to coax the spiders out into the open, and they attack! T'Chuck casts Spirit Guardian, and R'Oarc casts Invisibility on herself. Beholder-doodle stabs one on the ceiling. It falls to the ground in front of T'Chuck, who's Spirit Guardian kills it. The vigilante then drops to the ground and slays another spider. T'Chuck vanquishes a third one. And then two more appear!

Things get confusing for a little bit, but ultimately, the other two spiders are killed. T'Chuck takes their bodies back with them, in case there are any parts that can be harvested. And R'Oarc makes a five page sketch of their fight.

Short[]

The party accidentally returns to Mineford and collects their reward for killing the Black Pudding. 100 gp. They also sell Ratma 5 vials of the boner medication for an additional 100 gp. They sleep for the night, and the next morning, Milton Graves and Beholder-doodle appear at the same time. Milton stays behind as the rest of the party heads out to find the water source with all the Phase Spiders. They're able to slay all 5 of them, and T'Chuck takes their bodies for later harvesting.

Trivia[]

  • Day 40 41 of the campaign.
  • There is a question of Screech's age. He was previously described as "In his early 20's", which is where they land on this time, too.
  • Mineford gets their food, such as potatoes, from the surface. As such, they are very expensive.
  • There's a lot of talk of inventory in this episode. Tim mentions having 2 longswords from the Drider, but I'm pretty sure one of them was given to Griff as payment for giving J'Michael the boner pills.
    • Also, Bachmann mentions having the components to build a device of his choosing. But he already used those to, unfortunately, build a red rocket for Beholder-doodle back in Episode 39. So, he shouldn't have those anymore.
  • Ratma tells them that they could get a good price for the Brain Collector goo in the "Drow City"
  • Michael reminds the cast that Stephanie is with them, but she is immediately forgotten about.
  • Beholder-doodle begins talking in a super-hero voice in this episode, for the first time.

  • Phase Spider 5
    • I think Spiders 4 and 5 get switched around. In Round 1, Spider 4 went first and attacked R'Oarc. 5 made a Wis Save due to being near T'Chuck. Now, in Round 2, the first spider makes a Wis Save, and attacks T'Chuck. The second spider attacks Screech, who's near R'Oarc. So, I'm just gonna switch the two numbers around, so 5 goes first this round. None of this matters, but if you were wondering about that, yeah, it's confusing.
