We continue on our way to find the Abbott. Sure hope they can sort out this here dragon’s head… if not, well, at least the sights are neat. This trip is absolutely going in the scrapbook.

Story[]

Long Story[]

Following the party's short rest, they continue on through the deep, dark tunnels. Several hours pass, and they begin to get sleepy. T'Chuck finds a nice camping spot, and begins preparing something to eat. R'Oarc decides to take matters into her own hands, and eats some mushrooms off the wall. This proves to be a terrible idea. She immediately starts getting sick, and her mind gets all loopy. There's a benefit, though, in that she can see the mushrooms that are glowing, even without looking through the crystal. This lasts until T'Chuck casts Lesser Restoration on her. She gets better, and can no longer see the mushrooms glowing.

Also present is Beholder-doodle, who the party doesn't know is secretly Milton Graves in disguise. He's not bothering to hide his presence, since the party knows he's around. Cool. Well, after setting watch for the night, it's time to go beddy-bye. T'Chuck takes first watch, and hears some spiders scuttling around. They're harmless, though. He wakes Selene, who takes second watch. She hears nothing, and wakes R'Oarc for third watch. She actually sees a giant spider approach them, but instead of fighting it, she throws it a sausage roll. It accepts this offering, and runs off. Neat. Next up is Beholder-doodle, who had agreed to take Screech's watch for him. This proves too taxing on the 60-something, so he nods off on his watch. Fortunately, nothing terrible happens. The rest of the party wakes up on their own, to find Beholder-doodle fast asleep.

T'Chuck pulls a prank on the sleeping hero, casting Create Water to splash him. Screech protests, but can't do anything to stop him. Beholder-doodle awakens, and apologizes for his failings. T'Chuck can sense something's up with the vigilante, and figures out that, wait a second, this isn't the real Beholder-doodle!

Milton comes clean. He reveals that it's him that's been dressing up as the caped crusader. Screech jumps in as well, and admits that he asked Milton to pretend to be Beholder-doodle. But why? Well, according to Screech, the real Beholder-doodle was called away urgently to fight his un-named nemesis. The exact reason that Screech is involved in all of this is never questioned. The party accepts Screech's explanation, and it's time to move on.

After several more hours of travel, they finally come to where the map indicates The Cloisters should be. All they can see before them, however, is a 15-ft ravine. The Cloisters must be on the other side, but they'll need to cross it first. Dropping a pebble into the pit reveals how deep it is: It takes 12 minutes before they hear it hit the bottom. Wait a second, 12 minutes!?! That makes no sense. Why would they wait that long? How would the sound even travel that far? I don't understand.

Oh, well, best not to fall in, then. The only one who can make the jump across is T'Chuck, so he does that with some rope. He ties it to a rock on the other side, which everyone else is able to walk across. Everyone except J'Michael. T'Chuck leaps back over and ties some more rope to the young dragon, but even so, he's too nervous to jump. Everyone tries to give him a pep talk, and it's ultimately Selene who convinces him. She also uses her Telekinetic Shove ability to give him some more oomph. And also, J'Michael uses his wings a little bit! Cool.

Alright, so everyone's on the other side of the ravine. Nice work, gang. Surely nothing horrible will happen to them now, right?

That's when a Flumph appears from out of the ravine!

Short[]

The party travels through the tunnels for a while, before settling down for the night. R'Oarc eats some mushrooms that make her sick, but T'Chuck heals her. They all take watch for the night, but Milton Graves, posing as Beholder-doodle, falls asleep during his shift. The rest of the group wakes up, and questions him. He and Screech reveal that Milton is only pretending to be Beholder-doodle, as the real hero was called away to fight his arch-nemesis. They all continue on through the tunnels, eventually coming to a ravine. They are able to best this challenge, and make it to the other side. A Flumph appears from the ravine, possibly to fight them?
