Story[]
Long Story[]
T'Chuck has just been approached by the dreaded Alandra Thorne. She reveals to him that whenever she gives a blessing, she calls upon Reya, and asks her to reveal to her anyone who may be dangerous, anyone who may be plotting against her. T'Chuck's outburst at dinner, the vision he saw, seems to be a confirmation that T'Chuck is an enemy to Thorne. This bodes quite ill, if I do say so myself. T'Chuck tries to clear the air with Thorne, even attempting to seduce her, but her will is stronger than T'Chuck's charisma. She takes her leave.
Screech is pick-pocketed by one of the stable-hands, Gertie. He notices this, and chases after the girl. But he isn't mad. Still searching for a ward, Screech offers to train Gertie, to use her powers for "good". He tells her that he knows the Squirrel Man/Koala T/Drop Bear, and can introduce the two. They agree to meet in the daylight, in a public area, where it won't be creepy.
Meanwhile, Selene has been asking everyone about Thorne. No one seems to be a fan of her. R'Oarc suggests sneaking out and spying on her tonight. Their conversation is interrupted by Rathal, a town guard. She announces that Lucee is here to see R'Oarc, but they won't come inside. Instead, R'Oarc, followed by Selene, goes outside to meet with Lucee. The young Halfling reveals that they've seen blood outside the shack of Wally Bonebraids, the grave-keeper. That can't be good. Maybe they can go check out the graveyard before spying on Thorne? Before making any decisions, they return to the party to collect their friends, leaving Lucee outside.
Back inside, the party goes to visit Ratma Ritmo, and asks her if she knows which god would be held in the sixth vestibule in the Temple of Reya. As it happens, she does know, and the answer is the worst one it could be: it's Ugnos, god of death, lies, and murder. Uh oh. They briefly remember how Elwin Trantor was killed by Hanlan Four Fingers in the name of Ugnos. Not good stuff. Selene pulls T'Chuck away from his conversation with Quinn to tell him about Ugnos. He's none too pleased about this news, and suggests they take everything they've learned to Sir Rex Yalos.
This she does. Yalos, however, doesn't want to get involved. He can't make any moves against Thorne, nor can he stand in the way of The Order. Essentially, he's staying out of this. Selene takes this as permission to go a-snoopin', so, after pulling T'Chuck away from his conversation with Frambore, the party leaves the party. With Lucee tagging behind, they decide to head to the graveyard.
Upon approaching, they notice a light on in Wally's shack, and looking inside, they can see a strange sight. The man that Selene saw exiting the Temple earlier today, which is Wally Bonebraids, the grave-keeper, is lying on a table, a cut on his arm bleeding into a bucket on the ground. And standing over him holding a knife, is Alandra Thorne!
Short[]
Thorne accuses T'Chuck of being an enemy. T'Chuck attempts to seduce her, but fails. Screech takes notice of a new potential ward, one of the stable-hands, Gertie. Lucee appears outside and tells R'Oarc about some blood they found near Wally Bonebraids's shack. Selene learns from Ratma Ritmo that the sixth vestibule in the Temple of Reya houses Ugnos, so that's who Thorne worships. They tell Rex Yalos of their concerns, but he doesn't want to get involved. The whole party gathers and goes to the graveyard to deal with the blood thing. They find a ritual taking place in Wally's shack, with Thorne draining Wally's blood into a bucket!
