This…mirror thing continues to attack us and shred us to pieces but have no fear because it feels like it is getting smaller. It is really hard to tell if we are hurting a swirling mass of shattered glass but it feels like we are winning? Maybe? Or at least not losing. Maybe.

Story[]

Long Story[]

The party is in the middle of a fight against the Grinning Beast. It's a swirling mass of flying glass shards, which are constantly morphing into different shapes. At the end of the last episode, it spit out three separate masses of glass, which formed into three distinct glass creatures, which also attack the party. So, there are four mirror beasts, total. That's kinda rude, if you ask me. Also, the Jokester and Big Bo are there, fighting alongside the party.

T'Chuck still has a Spirit Guardian hanging around from last time, which not only attacks the big boy, but also sends a bunch of temp HP to the party. Nice! He also brings out a Guardian of Faith, which seems to do some kind of DPS to the beast. Also nice!

What's less nice is that the Grinning Beast has, like, lair actions, or between-turn actions or something. I haven't played DnD in a while, so I don't remember how anything works, and my brain is broken. He does a lot of attacks, though, including various strikes and chomps. At one point, T'Chuck gets swallowed up. Next turn, he gets vomited out, and is looking pretty rough. Selene stands back and does ranged magical attacks, managing to avoid hitting T'Chuck at the same time. Screech is right up on the beast, and R'Oarc heals where she can, and sends the odd Eldritch Blast into the creature's face. Ouchie.

Meanwhile, Big Bo has his pick that he's using to chip away at the Grinning Beast, literally. And the Jokester? Well, he's a weird little guy. He's also Beetlejuice as hell, transforming himself into various Beetlejuice-ian creatures, including, a cowboy, some kind of carousel thing with hammer arms, and a giant sand-worm.

Two of the three little guys are finished off by Selene's Raulothim's Psychic Lance spells, and the third by the Jokester in cowboy form. Two more get sent out, but they are easily dispatched by Bo and the Jokester, this time in his weird carousel form. After getting hit by Selene's Fireball, the Grinning Beast's form contracts into that of a cocoon thing. At the same time, several red beams of light appear from within the Beast, aimed right at the party members' chests. The Jokester, now in sand-worm form, crashes into the Grinning Beast, and then the mirror creature explodes! At first, it seems like it was defeated by the Jokester, but that's not what happened. Instead, this appears to have been another attack from the Grinning Beast. It shot shards of broken mirror and glass at everyone, and hit them all!

Suddenly, the party finds themselves transported to a new location. They are now in a small library, surrounded by rows and rows of shelves. Books and scrolls line these shelves, and the only way out seems to be a single door. There's also a mirror in the room, and peering through it, the party can see the Jokester, in giant kaiju form, locked in eternal battle with the still living Grinning Beast.

But what really draws the party's eye is the Aarakocra they had caught a glimpse of before. He's lying on the ground before them. Dead.

Short[]

The party continues fighting the Grinning Beast, and it's little minions. Together, with the Jokester and Big Bo, they are able to defeat the little guys. As the fight is getting more and more intense, the Grinning Beast forms up into a cocoon, with little red beams of light shooting out everywhere. These beams are aimed right at the chests of the party members! The Jokester, who has been transforming himself into various Beetlejuice-ian personas, makes himself into a giant sand-worm, and crashes into the Grinning Beast. The mirror creature bursts, and small pieces of glass shoot out at everyone. They are hit, and this suddenly transports them into a small library. In a mirror, they can see the Jokester, now a giant kaiju, locked in eternal battle with the Grinning Beast. And in the center of the room is the Aarakocra they had seen before, now lying dead on the floor.
