The ones that often feel the affects of our … worst actions are not always us, the people who do them. But, it seems like those goblins and ogre were maybe itchin' for a scrap regardless of what we did. So, that is like, a huge relief. That would have made us feel really bad.
Story[]
Long Story[]
Beary's cabin is aflame! The party tries their hardest to save it, but unfortunately, their hardest is fuckin' garbage, because they immediately and horrifically fail. Oh well, Beary is not too angry about it. He doesn't blame the party, but is bummed about his cabin. Screech has removed his clothes, and now stands nude. He tells the others that the Goblins stole his clothes, making him take them off and give them to them. And dance for them. T'Chuck gives Screech his cloak, and then turns his attention to Beary. He offers to have Beary stay with him and R'Oarc back in Rimeford while he helps fix up the cabin, and while Beary is appreciative, he does not accept the invitation. Instead, he counter-invites them to stay with him in his barn for the night, which they do accept.
Beary sleeps on a pile of hay, and invites the others to cuddle up next to him. T'Chuck and R'Oarc do so, but Selene is indignant, pulling T'Chuck aside to ask if they really need to sleep on a pile of hay. For this, T'Chuck ridicules Selene, making her angry. She storms out the door. Screech is also not thrilled about the idea, and makes a hammock in the barn out of T'Chuck's cloak. But he still needs clothes, so he decides to go out and gather the clothes of the Goblins they killed. And he secretively retrieves his own clothes from the forest. They're expensive, you know? Also, Selene gets too cold and goes back inside. R'Oarc has left her out a blanket near their hay pile. It's not too close, but not too far away.
As they are going to sleep, R'Oarc and T'Chuck notice Beary crying quietly to himself. They comfort him, and become closer to him. R'Oarc also suggests he come live with them back in Rimeford. He, again, is resistant, but does agree to think about it. His hesitation comes from his belief that the folks of Rimeford will come at him with torches and pitchforks, something his parents warned him would happen. After being assured that that won't happen, he decides to come down next harvest to meet some people, and see for himself. T'Chuck mentions that R'Oarc's godmother is powerful and dangerous, so she'll help protect them all, should the need arise.
Speaking of arising, they all do so the next morning! The Rimeford-ers say their goodbyes to Beary and make their way back to town. T'Chuck asks R'Oarc why they came out to the forests in the first place. The real answer is that they were going to go to the Grizzly-folk village and ask about the various mysterious goings on in the area. But R'Oarc has forgotten that, and thinks she was going to talk to Beary specifically. That ended up being a dead end, so they all head back into town.
T'Chuck goes to work at the The Goblin Pit, and talks with Ratma Ritmo. He tells her about Beary, and how he used Regnier's magic to resurrect the dead R'Oarc. This might suggest that he had a diamond on him, as that's usually a necessary component to resurrect someone. Interesting. They also discuss the fact that Selene didn't turn in Beary, despite his use of non-Reya magic, so maybe she's not all bad. T'Chuck spends the rest of his shift "carousing" for "information". If that's what you want to call it, T'Chuck...
Meanwhile, Selene has absconded to her room. She's angry at T'Chuck for ridiculing her at the barn, and also nervous about the mines, which she was commanded to investigate. She was also instructed to kill Professor Devin Decacog, something else she hasn't done yet. After thinking for a minute, she decides to sneak out that night after dinner, to go and visit Decacog. There, she will kill him. Unbeknownst to her, but knownst to us the audience, Screech will be out on the prowl, so he may bear witness to these events. Or should I say, Koala Bear witness...
R'Oarc is also working at the tavern, and she is called upon to perform her beat poetry. And that's the cliffhanger that we end the episode on...
Short[]
Beary's cabin burns down, despite the party's best efforts. Well, efforts, anyway. I don't know if they can be called "best". Anyway, Beary invites them to sleep the night away in his barn, which they do. During the night, they convince him to come visit Rimeford to meet the people there, and see that they're not all bad. The next day, they get back to town, where Selene decides she needs to take out Devin Decacog tonight, after dinner. And R'Oarc is about to perform her beat poetry...
Trivia[]
- Day
34 of the campaign. - Screech removing his exterior clothing to reveal his vigilante costume is (for some reason) a bonus action, but putting his clothing back on over top of his costume is a full action
- Bachmann rolls to see how big his dick is. Hilariously, Tim was too scared to do this exact same thing back in Episode 61 of the first campaign.
- Ratma dated an ogre in high school
